Known for not mincing words, Susana Vieira publicly pricked Globo’s recent soap operas, due to the faster pace and the insertion of advertising within productions. According to her, it is no longer possible to know when you are in a soap opera or in an advertising action.

During an event to launch Aguinaldo Silva’s book, which took place last Thursday (18), in Rio de Janeiro, the actress said that the soap opera is much more connected to real life than the theater. “But television has been accelerating so much, that I no longer know if I’m in an ad for Casas Bahia or if I’m in the soap opera, it’s all a mess. You only see that it’s an eight o’clock soap opera because it’s a people of the land, all poorly dressed.”

The actress continued: “There’s a big mess in the air between soap operas and commercials. This pace is making us stressed. If someone takes a break, they cut the scene. This harms the work of the author, but also that of the actor.”

Another characteristic that draws the veteran’s attention is her self-esteem always up to date, and this time it was no different. Susana said she has no regrets in her career, because “everything was in the law” and declared that she is usually praised by professional colleagues.

“We were libertines at the time of censorship, we did what was wanted within the law. We are not imprisoned, so it was in the law. I raised my son with education, I never married any director, unfortunately… I had the power, I like to know that my power is my art,” reflected the actress.

“[Director] Daniel Filho says I’m awesome, [author] Manoel Carlos says I’m stunning… They are the ones who say I’m wonderful, not me,” she added.
