Luana Piovani, 47, spoke out about marijuana use. The actress gave an interview to the magazine “Breeza”, specialized in the subject, and said that the first thing she does when she wakes up is smoke a joint. She also opened up about how many cigarettes she “burns” per day, revealed that she had smoked at the Globo studios — something that would have angered the network’s directors — and was candid about smoking in front of her children.

What she likes to do when she is “smoked”: “Live. […] The first thing I do when I wake up is smoke a joint before I wake up my kids. […] Normally I don’t make a joint in the morning, right? I’m going to smoke the tip of what’s left of yesterday.”
How many joints do you smoke a day: “I think I smoke a couple of joints a day in normal times. In B.O. seasons, I smoke about four, five.”
On Pedro Scooby, her ex-husband, smoking: “Oddly enough, I was married to the only surfer I know who didn’t smoke, or who smokes, marijuana.”
On smoking in front of her children: “When I was a month and a half from Portugal [where she currently lives], I separated, only B.O. in hand. […] I started smoking weed in front of everybody and I had friends who always smoked weed in front of their kids and I didn’t smoke, I always smoked in secret, on my balcony, in the garden, open, stuff. […] I started smoking and then I remembered my friend saying: ‘I don’t hide it because, if you hide it, it gives you a feeling that you can’t, that it’s forbidden, it’s wrong.'”
Confusion at Globo: “There was one time, in my last job at Rede Globo, when we were outside, lunch time was over, I would go to the parking lot to smoke my cigarette. […] The hairdresser was going with me to smoke a cigarette, and then the security guard was coming after me. […] They have already been honking in the ear of the head of the hairdressers that the guy was smoking marijuana. Of course the rope bursts on the weaker side. Do you think someone is going to come and take satisfaction from me? They went there and ate the hairdresser’s ass the next day.”
“[…] Then it took four or five days and a director called me: ‘Luana, are you smoking marijuana outside? Inside here, the big core is from the extreme right, they are grimacing, and this is going to be bad for you’. I waited for him to say everything he said, when it was over I said: ‘Honey, let me tell you something, if there’s someone who does my job better than me, hire them. You can tell people to fire me, if anyone has an A to talk about my work.’ I’m very punctual, I have my text and the other’s text memorized, I help with the production. I’m in an open environment, I’m not smoking in anyone’s face, are you coming to scold me? You can fire me, no problem at all.”
