Anderson Leonardo, singer of Molejo, dies at the age of 51Reproduction

The lead singer of the group Molejo, Anderson Leonardo, died on Friday afternoon (26), at the age of 51. According to the singer’s press office, he will be laid to rest later today in Rio de Janeiro, with the ceremony being open to the public.

The time and location have not yet been announced, but it should be decided in a meeting with the family this afternoon. 

The singer was hospitalized at Unimed Hospital, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The artist was battling inguinal cancer, in the groin area, and underwent a series of hospitalizations to treat the disease. He is survived by his wife, Paula Cardoso, and four children.

The information of the death was released on the singer’s social networks: “Our warrior ANDERSON LEONARDO fought bravely, but unfortunately he was overcome by cancer, but he will always be remembered by all family, friends and his immense legion of fans, for his genius, strength and love for the stage and MOLEJO. Your presence and joy was a light that illuminated the lives of everyone around you, and you will be deeply missed and never forgotten, we love you,” the official statement reads.

Earlier, on Friday (26), Anderson’s situation entered a very serious state and the press office informed iG Gente that the situation was “very delicate”. The pagodeiro was hospitalized at the Unimed Hospital, in Barra da Tijuca, West Zone of Rio de Janeiro.
