Canadian star Céline Dion announced on Tuesday (16) through her official Instagram account the release of the unreleased documentary I Am: Céline Dion, which will be made available on Amazon Prime Video on June 25th.

Directed by Academy Award nominee Irene Taylor, I Am: Céline Dion offers a raw and honest behind-the-scenes look at the artist’s struggle with an illness that changed the course of her life.

“Serving as a love letter to her fans, this inspiring documentary highlights the music that guided her life, while also showcasing the resilience of the human spirit,” Céline Dion’s team wrote on Instagram.

The documentary will also be a glimpse into Dion’s career, as well as her struggle with the autoimmune neurological disorder, better known as Stiff Person Syndrome.

The hitmaker of classics such as My Heart Will Go On and Where Does My Heart Beat Now even announced the documentary in January of this year: “(The) last few years have been a great challenge for me, the journey from discovering my condition to learning how to live with it and manage it, but not letting it define me,” said Céline Dion at the time.

The singer was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022, a condition that affects one in 1 million people worldwide.

In a career spanning nearly 43 years, Céline Dion has sold more than 200 million records worldwide, becoming one of the most successful singers in the history of the music industry, being honored with the Order of Canada and the National Order of Quebec, as well as receiving two honorary doctorates in music from Berklee College of Music and by the Université Laval.

Songs such as “The Power of Love”, “Think Twice”, “Because You Loved Me” and “I’m Alive” are also among the songs that propelled Céline Dion to stardom.
